This is not a hill you want to climb. Plan on a cyclocrossy and bumpy descent. It's tempting to feature this segment in a long climb to the summit of Briar Hill, but just be aware that you will have to dismount often and getting started again will be quite hard. There are some disagreements on GPS files around the web as to the gradients of this hill. I say that 6% avg grade is about right, steepest at 13% or so, never gets much below 4%. Very very sandy in places, some running water along path, one small jeep section makes it impassable to anything but high-clearance orv.
